ASO latex test is based on principle of agglutination. When latex reagent (Polystyrene Latex particles coated with Streptolysin O) is mixed with a test serum containing antibodies to streptolysin-O higher than 200IU/ml gives visible agglutination reaction. If the concentration of ASO is lesser than 200IU/ml, no agglutination will be observed.
